Practical Clothes & What to Bring
It can be challenging to come up with what to wear on vacation. Whether it’s coming up with travel outfit ideas for what to wear on a beach vacation, a European tour, or a winter ski vacation. Each scenario requires picking clothes that are flexible and varied enough to accommodate your needs but to also keep your footprint small enough to fit in your suitcase. Below we provide some ideas for clothes to bring including a few of our current favorite online merchants and packing tips for vacation travel.
Driving in France
Driving a vehicle in France is not quite the same as it is in the United States. We have collected some information and details that we found useful to know while driving in France. We will start with road signs and then on to other information you will want to have. Keep in mind that we started this page after a long road trip (in France) and we kept seeing signs that we did not understand!
How to Pick a Suitcase
We recently replaced some luggage, and our experiences of what we discovered during our research are provided here.
Places we would fly to just to have dinner
This is our list of restaurants that we felt were so good, that we would fly there immediately just to enjoy a meal there again! Now that might sound unusual, or perhaps even a bit silly, but this is a long time favorite bit of humour in our family because we had great meals at each of these places.
How we earned 1 Million Hilton Honors Points
Since we like to travel we carry credit cards that offer travel related points. Up until seventeen months ago we carried two United Airlines Visa cards. Those cards allow us to gather enough miles to fly business class using miles when we fly on long trips - such as to Europe. As we get older it’s become extremely uncomfortable to sit in coach on long overnight flights and we are wrecked when changing time zones and not getting enough sleep so we look for ways to try to fly on business class when flying overseas.
Our 10 Step Trip Planning Guide
So much to see… so little time. The number one question we are asked is whether we plan our own trips or use a travel agency or get someone to help us. The answer is that we typically plan our own trips with the exception of cruises that we’ve taken.
Flying Business Class Tips
When we travel overnight or on extremely long flights we try to find ways to fly business class without having the expense of flying business class. Are business class flights worth it? We think so. The difference between business and economy class is huge from a comfort perspective. The newer airplanes that fly long hauls frequently have fully reclining seats that allow you to actually get some rest on long flights and it’s easier on your body and mind.
Our Paris Tips
Yes, there are a number of other websites that have published tips about Paris, but we have created our list from our own personal experience(s). For those of you who have never been to Paris previously, some of these tips might seem unusual or perhaps "harsh", but we can definitely assure you that these things take place in Paris and you will have an even more enjoyable time in Paris if you take advantage of these tips & warnings!
European Auto Rental Tips
Having a car available during a trip to Europe can provide you with a lot of freedom and convenience; Travel at your own pace, stop whenever you want to take in the view, and get to some places that are difficult to reach via public transportation. However, there are some things to know about Renting a Car in Europe - points to consider. Knowing these differences in advance can save you some money and maybe even a big travel headache.
